The Cellar Staff play a crucial role in maintaining the efficient operation of the nightclub’s cellar and bar areas. They ensure that stock levels are managed effectively, equipment is maintained, and the bar staff have everything they need to deliver a seamless service to customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the cellar and bar areas are fully stocked and prepared before and during events.
  • Receive, check, and store deliveries correctly, maintaining accurate stock records.
  • Rotate stock effectively to minimise waste and ensure product freshness.
  • Maintain and clean beer lines, taps, and other dispensing equipment to industry standards.
  • Support bar staff by replenishing stock, changing barrels, and troubleshooting issues.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations.
  • Assist in stock takes and audits to track inventory accurately.
  • Work closely with the Venue and Duty Managers to improve cellar operations and efficiency.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation in all storage and cellar areas.

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • Previous experience in a bar, cellar, or stock management role.
  • Good knowledge of cellar maintenance, beer line cleaning, and stock control.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Physical fitness, as the role requires heavy lifting and manual handling.
  • A proactive and reliable team player with good communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including late nights and weekends.

Desirable:

  • Cellar management training or relevant qualification.
  • First Aid training or willingness to undertake training.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations in a licensed venue.
  • Experience working in a student union or student-focused environment.

Pay for this role is £12.44

If you are successful, you will go through an intensive 6 shift probation period in the new role after training is complete.
