Student Trustee
The Board of Trustees is the highest decision making body at the Students’ Union and is ultimately responsible for making decisions that impact the overall direction and success of the Students’ Union. The role of Student Trustee is pivotal on the Board of Trustees, providing the perspective of the student body and ensuring that grass-roots student opinion is feeding decision making at the highest level within the Students’ Union. Student Trustees actively participate in governance and decision making processes that contribute to the overall student experience at Surrey.
Why Apply?
This is a voluntary position that provides you with a high level of oversight and experience. The Board meets 5 times a year, and also runs a selection of sub-committees which meet between 1 and 3 times a year depending. The time commitment is moderate, but the rewards for being involved are high, considering the experience you would gain of strategic decision making, scrutinising papers and problem solving.
